Sewer Rehabilitation near Morrow Drive

Residents of Washington D.C., DC Water crews are in the process of replacing a 14-foot segment of damaged sewer pipe located in National Park Service (NPS) park land. More specifically, the work will take place in the park area adjacent to Morrow Drive, NW between Joyce Road, NW and Stage Road. Normal work hours will be from 9:30am until 2:45pm, Monday through Friday; operations will continue during some nights and weekends, as needed.

Morrow Drive will need to be closed from Joyce Road to Stage Road. This road closure will be in effect during work hours, as Morrow Drive will serve as a major access point to the work area.

Important Information:
*Morrow Drive, NW will be closed to commuter traffic from Joyce Road, NW to Stage Road during work hours.
*Detour traffic signs, traffic control and protective barriers will be set up to maintain public safety and alert motorists of the upcoming road closure and traffic changes.
*During work hours, 16th Street NW may be used as an alternative route for northbound/southbound travel on Morrow Drive.
*There are no anticipated interruptions to water or sewer services as part of this project.
*Noise and dust levels from operation of equipment will be kept minimal.
*Some traffic stops and delays within the vicinity of the work area are anticipated.

To keep everyone safe, motorists should stay alert and obey the posted speed limits and signage when traveling through this area. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
